In Galatians 5:22-23 we find nine spiritual gifts known as the " fruits of the Spirit " . We can also see them in 2 Peter1:3-11 as well as in another biblical passages such as " The whole armor of God ", " The beatitudes ",and the " Commandments of our Lord " .Paul insisted on saying that the Christians' behavior must reveal those spiritual fruits.Those whose lives produce evil results will not inherit the Kingdom of God ( Galatians5:2 ). Study the fruits of the Spirit and apply them to your own life.

1)	Love: Love is an affection toward God and people.It is produced in us when we are born again ( I John 4:7-8 ) and it is described by Paul in I Corinthians 13:1-8 . We can truly love only when we are controlled by the Holy Spirit. Love-in the commandments - Exodus 20 .

2)	Joy, Happiness: This holy joy comes when we know God and trust in His promises.We do need it to serve God ( Deuteronomy 28:47 ; Psalms 51:12-13 ) and it is an attribute of Christians controlled by the Spirit.

Peace: This feeling comes to our mind and heart when we know that we have been forgiven and that God can fulfill each one of our necessities. ( Philippians 4:6-7 )
Peace-in the whole armor - Ephesians 6:11-18 .
The peace makers-in the beatitudes - Matthew 5 ;
Do not murder-in the commandments - Exodus 20

4)	Patience: This is a characteristic of people who do not get offended or provoked easily. Pure heart-in the beatitudes - Matthew 5 ; Adultery-in the commandments - Exodus 20

5)	Kindness: A kind and sympathetic nature is observed in those who walk with God. Humble-in the whole armor - Ephesians 6:11-18 ; Merciful-in the beatitudes - Matthew 5 ; Do not steal-in the commandments - Exodus 20

6)	Goodness: This an excellent and general moral that has no secondary motives. Pure heart-in the beatitudes - Matthew 5 ; Adultery-in the commandments - Exodus 20.

7)	Faithfulness: The true faith is produced by the Spirit of God:faith for salvation or faith to live in the paths of God,trusting in His promises,whenever problems or afflictions come to us. Faith,Truth-in the whole armor - Ephesians 6:11-18 ; Do not lie-in the commandments - Exodus 20 .

8)	Gentleness: This is the will we have to control ourselves in all situations for we recognize our own depravity ( Matthew 5:4-5 )

9)	Self-control: It is based in the control and moderation found in those who live to demonstrate the glory of God.We honor Him through our reactions.

Do no steal,do not covet-in the commandments - Exodus 20 .

It is clear that Christians may have one or more spiritual gifts,but it isn't the same thing when it comes to the fruits of the Spirit.Authentic Christians, controlled by the holy Spirit, will produce ALL fruits for the mind of Christ is within them ( Philippians 2:5 ).Therefore they will become just like Jesus in all areas of their character.

We can conclude that all fruits of the Spirit are already included in the first one,which is love.In Romans 13:8-10 , we can see that love fulfills the law.The commandment of loving God and our neighbor is the foundation of our Christian lives.Read and think about the description Paul gives us in I Corinthians 13:1-8 . Notice that all "fruits of the Spirit" are shown through love.

When we are close to the Holy Spirit,when we walk with Him,our lives will demonstrate that and produce good fruits.

What kind of person have you been?Are you following the desires of your sinful nature?Are you giving God complete control of your life and allowing Him to work in you?
