Text: Joel 3:14
Introduction
The prophet Joel lived in Israel. A small piece of land, but very fertile.
| A) | But then a tragedy takes place: 1:4 A plague of locusts came. 1:20 Followed by a terrible drought. 1:13 The tragedy would affect even the service. 1:14 Fasting and prayer. Leads the prophet to discover what would happen at the end of times. Application: Today a world crisis has been installed. The modern man needs to search for God. |
| B) | Chapter 2:28-32 Foresees what would happen, 25 years ahead. v.29 -The shed of the Holy Spirit. Has already taken place v. 30-31 – Signs of the coming of Christ. In the day of Pentecost, the sun did not turn into darkness. The moon did not turn into blood. This will happen. They are future happenings. Matthew24:29-31 – Jesus talked about it. Rev.6:12 - John, in the Island of Patmos, saw this. |
| C) | Chapter 2:13 - Joel’s appeal. .IP 3 The same appeal for today. “Rend your garments” it’s something easy to accomplish. “Rend your heart”, it’s much more difficult to accomplish. Breaking. |
| D) | Chapter 2:32 “ Everyone who calls” Joel does not let us be tormented. He presents the problem, but brings the solution. |
Conclusion
- Revelations 11:15 say he will dominate “all the kingdoms”
- Sovereignty and power will be with him.
- In which side will you be?
- “Multitudes and multitudes in the valley of decision” And you as one, get into this multitude.
- What’s your decision?
- May this decision be beside Jesus.
