picture

Text: John 16:33

Introduction.

.IP 1 Have you experienced the feeling of "being crushed"?
Illustration: I Samuel 30:4 . David and his soldiers felt that in Ziklag.

1. Do not panic.
  • Panic only confuses. Life continues.
  • Popular say: "The rings may go, but the fingers will stay"
  • Proverbs 19:2.
  • Never make decisions in crisis/panic.
2. Accepts what cannot be changed.
  • With wisdom, "put the problem aside"
  • Illustration: II Samuel 12:19-20
  • While there were possibilities, David prayed, fasted, cried.
  • Take care with the bitterness, it can come to live here.
3. Do not pity yourself.
  • Proverbs 24:10
  • Job 2:9-10 - The example of Job.
He lost everything, but did not sin.
  • Be careful not to blame others, to blame God.
    Illustration. Jacob in Jaboque.
  • "I have an affliction". Stayed alone. - If you feel pity for yourself it will only bring you down even more.
4. Remember: In Jesus there is hope.
  • John 5:1 - One day Jesus passes.
  • Even when is raining, the sun still shines above the clouds.
  • Jesus passes in the "route of the despaired.
  • He passes, even if to just take us with him.

Conclusion.

  • Renew your spirit.
Jesus: "I defeated the world" and
He passed for afflictions, more than any of us.
