Experiencing God - (11/14/04)

Text: Isaiah 6:1 – 8

Introduction.

Isaiah 6:1 - The death of the good king Uzziah.

 01. God is acting constantly.
“I saw the Lord in the temple.”
Isaiah was devastated with the death of his good friend Uzziah.
But the world followed his normal course.
"seated on a high and sublime throne". He reign.
Isaiah 6:3: Holy, holy, holy. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

02. God seeks a relationship of love with me.

Isaiah 6:6-7
Heavenly beings fly to me. Seraphim.
The hot coal means purification, holiness.
He wants a real relationship and personal relationship with me.
"There isn't one righteous.” Roman 3:10-11.

03. God invites me to join Him.
Isaiah 6:8 "Whom shall I send?
I Corinthians 3: 9. We are supporters of God.

04. God speaks to guide.
Isaiah 3:8: "I heard the voice of the Lord".

05. God expects me to obey.
Isaiah 6:8b. "Here I am, send me"
Faith asks us for an action. And here we fail. We stop.
Gideon tested God.
Moses complained saying that he was stutter.
Jonas fled.
Isaiah promptly obeyed.

Conclusion.
"I saw the Lord". Verse 1.
"I saw inside of me." Verse 5.
"I saw the needs around me." Verse 8b.
Who is our greatest model?
Jesus, who joined the Father, obeyed, passed through a terrible crisis (Gethsemane) but obeyed perfectly.
