Text: Galatians 6:14.

Introduction.

- Paul wrote this letter to the Galatians between A.D. 48 and A.D 58.
- The church leaders were Jews who had become Christians.
- But there was a problem: Those leaders were teaching that the gentiles should be circumcised to be saved.
- Let us see the texts: Galatians 4:10 and 5:2-6.
- Galatians 6:11 Paul had a "secretary"who used to write his letters.He would write only the closing words.But the whole letter to the Galatians was written in his own handwriting.
- What is Paul's subject? The salvation brought by the cross is enough.
-We were justified ( 3:6-9 ),adopted ( 4:4-7 ),renewed ( 4:6 )we became heirs like Jesus.
- Galatians 6:15 . What counts is "to become new creation."
-Application: Do you believe that something else ,besides the cross,can give you salvation?
-Paul could boast...

01) About his conversion...

- Acts 9.
-He persecuted the church( 1,2 )
-Something spectacular happened.( 3) A light from Heaven.
-He fell off his horse and heard the voice of God.
-The men with him were surprised,speechless. (7)
-He was blind.( 8 )
-He was forced to fast for 3 days.( 9 )There is the voluntary fasting.
-God tells him he is a" chosen instrument"( 15)
-Ananias laid his hands on him.( 17,18 )
-Paul didn't need to say anything else but tell the churches his testimony.

02)About his education.

-He was from Tarsus,where the greatest Philosophy school was located.
-He went to Jerusalem at an early age to continue his studies.This was a sign that his family had money.
-He was Gamaliel's pupil,the greatest Rabbi at that time.
-He became very zealous and a follower of the Jewish law.
-A very good education and a rich family gave him an important position.
-He had two citizenships:the Jewish and the Roman one.
- I Corinthians 14:18 says he could speak many languages.
-But he didn't boast about his diplomas,like many people do.

03)About his religion.

-In Romans 7 he speaks of the peace the law didn't give him.
-The law would point out his mistakes,condemn him and bring no solution.
-People would consider a Christian a"god". Acts 14:8-18.
-This was something Paul and Barnabas could boast about.They were like "gods".
-And this is what many religious leaders do nowadays.Why?
-Because they forgot the cross of Christ.

04) About his missionary work.

Paul organized and leaded three Missionary Journeys.

1.Paul and Barnabas.They went to Antioch of Syria,Cyprus,Antioch of Pisidia,Iconium,Lystra,Derbe and Jerusalem.

2.Paul,Silas and Timothy.They went to Philippi,Thessalonica,Berea and Athens.

3.Paul,Silas and Timothy,with Priscilla and Aquila's help,went to Corinth,Ephesus,Troas and Miletus.

Conclusion.  

-In Philippians 3:8 Paul compares the richness of this world to garbage because of what Christ has done.
- Why should we boast about the cross of Christ?

a) The cross cancels any other way to Heaven. John 14.6

b)The cross shows us how serious our sins are. Romans 5:8

c)The cross is our assurance of eternal life. Revelation 5:9
