The Family that Jesus Loves - (03/13/05 - Night)

Text: John 11:5

Introduction.

- There is a true war declared against families.
- II Timothy 3:1. We're living in these difficult times.
- What is the concept of a family nowadays?
- Single parents.Homosexual people can adopt children.
- Children's rebellion.
- It's good to remember the Word of God: Genesis 2:18
- The Family was established before the state, the church, the school.
- It was born before the fall of man and survived it.
- God came to the world through a family.

A) John 11:3 - They sent a message to Jesus about Lazarus' sickness.

- The name Lazarus means "God is my help."
- They sent a message to the one who loved them.
- They were sure Jesus would see them, even if it was just to visit.
- John 11:6. Jesus stayed where He was for two days.
- Time: A great enemy of hope.
- But He is very good and won't allow too many tears.

 B) John 11:21 Martha and Mary believed in a power from the past.

 "Lord,if you had been here,"
- John 11:24 - Martha remembers Jesus' power in the future.
- The situation is totally desperate.
- To them, not even Jesus could do something.
- John 11:23 "Your brother will rise again." Now.
- When the first family was banished from the Eden,God didn't abandon the family.
- He used another family,Joseph and Mary,to bring salvation.
- He resolved our greatest problem, the spiritual problem.

C) John 11:44 -  Jesus acts in the family that He loves.

"Unwrap him and let him go.
- Only Jesus can perform miracles nowadays.
- Martha and Mary were reluctant in their faith. But Jesus took action despite that.
- All families need a miracle.
- What miracle is your family waiting for?

Conclusion.

- John 11:35. He was moved because He loved them.
- Jesus cries when He sees the situation of families today.
- It's difficult with Him,it's much more difficult without Him
- John 11:36. "See how much He loved them."Testimony.
- John 11:45 "...many of the people....believed in Him."
- May other families look at our family and, by seeing what Jesus has done, may they believe too.
