Introduction.
In the book of Acts, Luke carefully shows what Jesus says instead of what is going on.
The disciples think everything is over. But it is just beginning.
The command: "be my witnesses" brings a promise;" the Holy Spirit will come upon you ."
In Greek, the word "witness" has the same meaning as the word "martyr".
What is Jesus' last command then?
01. We ought to witness without worrying about the time.
Acts 1:6 . The disciples are worried about dates.
Acts 1:7 . Jesus gives them a harsh answer: Do not worry about this, tell people about me.
Mark 1:14. " The Kingdom of God ." There is a great problem.
Jesus was talking about a Spiritual Kingdom.
But they were thinking about a political leadership.
John 4:35 "Look around you "According to Jesus, doing the work was much more important than eating. John 4:31
02. We ought to witness with power.
We need a supernatural power to do the work of God.
It's the Holy Spirit anointing.
What is our relationship with the Holy Spirit like?
Illustration II Kings 6. The ax has no use without its head.
03. We ought to witness here and to ends of the earth.
When we speak of Missions , we need to speak of lives and money.
There are at least 4 ways to participate in our church:
... But there's another way: You can give your own life.
Jerusalem, our city......
Judea and Samaria....and further....
To the ends of the Earth, the whole world....
