Introduction
- In the text, Jesus performs the first multiplication of the bread. - Verse 14 says that the crowd wants to make him king. - Verse 24 shows the crowd looking for Jesus all over the place. - Verse 26 Jesus directs a severe word to the crowd. - Research shows the 4 priorities of the Brazilian immigrant in the USA.
01. A group of curious people follows Jesus. ( Verse 2 )
- A great crowd continued to follow him because they saw the miraculous signs. - Illustration: Eve in the book of Genesis. Zacchaeus in Luke 19. - Curiosity can be a peril or a blessing.
02. A group of admirers follows Jesus. ( Verse 14 )
- The famous "friends of the gospel" - Illustration: Cornelius in Acts 10 - A group who is difficult to be convinced that needs conversion.
03. A group of greedy people follow Jesus. ( Verse 26 )
- The Bible tells us to help believers in their needs. - But many people are in the church with the following thought: - What am I going to gain? What can I obtain? - A marriage? A job? A bag of food?
04. A group of incredulous people follows Jesus. (Verse 36)
- In verse 30, people are looking for signs to believe. - They want to see and then believe. Jesus' commandment is to believe first. - Illustration: John 20:27. Thomas' incredulity.
05. A group of mockers follows Jesus (Verse 52)
- If you are not suffering persecution because of the name of Jesus, something is wrong. - Mockery comes when we decide to witness Jesus.
06. A group of people who went out of the way follows Jesus. (Verse 66)
- Do you know anyone who used to follow the Ways of the Lord? - And that now is far from his Way? In the days of Jesus, this happened already.
07. A group of people who have a commitment with Him follows Jesus. (Verse 68)
- They were challenged by Lord Jesus himself. Verse 67. - To whom are we going? -You have the words of eternal life. -You are the Holy God.
Conclusion
