Amnesia is a disease which provokes the temporary lost of memory. Any person, who had suffered from amnesia for a period of time, knows the damages that come with it. Worst than that, is what we may call "spiritual amnesia". Yes, many of us are about to lose the remembrances of God. Or simply forget completely our God. Analyzing the Holy Scriptures, we can see that 4 thousand years ago, Moses alerted us about this matter. "When the Lord, your God brings you into the Land he swore to your fathers, the Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you a Land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant, then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord who brought you out of Egypt, out of the Land of slavery."(Deuteronomy 6: 10-12). It's common to see in our houses, hotels and even churches, open Bibles, especially in the book of Psalm, more precisely o chapter 23. If we pay attention, we'll see that these pages are worn out. On Wednesday, August 11th we heard missionary Kathy Myatt saying that we should not read only one verse or one chapter of the Bible but the whole bible which is a letter of love to us. Don't think that the reading of one verse, or a quickly prayer in the time of food or the frequency in the services will be sufficient to protect you from "spiritual amnesia". The medicine to fight against this disease is in Deuteronomy 6:6. "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts." Remember: God wants His Word and the remembrances His works to dominate our lives in a fashion that our thinking and words are naturally focused on Him.
