There aren’t many things so unpleasant than having a little stone inside one of your shoes. As little as it is, it annoys and causes pain. The only remedy is to take the stone out of the shoe. But sometimes, the stone gets in the shoe at an inconvenient time and you can't take off your shoe when someone is looking. There are people who prefer to stay with this stone. There are even those who try to disguise and live with the little stone as if it doesn’t exist. These people may end up with a sore foot. All of this came to my mind because of a biblical text that says: “Confess your sins one to another…” Our sins are like little stones in our shoe which means our life. Many times, there are stones in the shoes of others. Stones that bother hurt and cause pain. Everybody sees that something is wrong in our walk. Many times the stones mean the harsh or brutal words said in moments of irritation. For others, it is the discrimination. Other times it is the inhuman way of pointing other people’s mistakes, slander, pride or a lie. This is like the stone that get in our shoe. “Confess your sins one to another”. In other words: as soon as you feel the stone (the sin’s pain) confess your mistake. First to God. Then, go to your neighbor and confess your guilt. Ask for forgiveness! This is the step to take! When was the last time that you sought somebody you hurt and confessed your mistake? This is the biblical way to take out the stone, before the foot becomes sore.Don’t be a stone in the shoe, or in the life, of somebody! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
