Would you leave and walk away from a home, family and material goods without knowing what your future will be? That would be insane, wouldn't it.! That’s what Abraham did. First he lived in Ur of Chaldeans which was a the center of Mesopotamian, which included a great center for services because an extensive part of the city was occupied by temples, which was dedicated to the Moon, the patron saint. Because he walked so slow, he became old, as a matter of fact, he died walking. Even walking as he did, he never owned one inch of the land that was his. One piece of the land served as his grave, which he did not want given to him, but instead he bought it for a fair price - four hundred shekels of silver! Now we ask: Isn’t that insane? After all: who was Abraham? An adventurer? A visionary? A neurotic absorbed by an obsession or fixed idea? No. He was simply a man of faith. He believed in God’s promises. And because he believed, he was led by God's hands into the unknown. What did he get without even stepping into the land that God promised? As far as I am concerned, he got to know the Promised Land because he traveled all over it? This way, it was his land. Our land is placed on the other side, in heaven; it’s our promised land as it was for Abraham: “For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” (Hebrews 11:10 ) Pr.
