The Rescuing Arm - (03/06/05)

I read an article that narrated the story of the first days in the life of twins. Each one was separated in an incubator and one of them had no prospect of life. A nurse acted against all hospital rules and placed both newborns in the same incubator. After a period of time, the healthier child put her arm on the other child’s shoulder. Minutes later the most fragile newborn experienced a normal heartbeat and her temperature was normal. This shows that we are born knowing the value in the secure feeling of an arm around you. Because of this, whatever the problem might be, when you feel this arm around you it makes you feel secure knowing you are not alone.

If sadness took control of your heart, may my arm give you some joy.

If you are facing serious problems, may my arm give you strength and hope to face tomorrow.

If love hasn’t marked its presence in your life, may my arm give you the hope that love is on its way.

If you are feeling lonely, may my arm comfort you.

If some misunderstanding has harmed you may you know that I will accept you no matter what the circumstances are.

If when you look in the mirror and you don’t like your appearance, may my arm show you that what I see goes beyond appearances and it’s very beautiful.

If some kind of infirmity is afflicting you, may my arm reach your immune system and accelerate your natural defenses.

If you lost someone dear to you, may my arm be there to comfort you.

Whatever your current circumstances may be, may you feel my arm around you and remember that God, our creator, at this very moment is present and actually at this moment, He is present and actually we are three: You, God and I.
