In all countries we find games of chance. The government legalized this practice through laws and enjoys the benefits setting high taxes.
The fact that the games are recognized by law does not make them approved before the principles of the Word of God. Not everything that is legal is consequently approved by the moral values and principles of the Christian society. The games of chance continue to be a misfortune and a disgrace. Here are some principles to guide the Christian who is really walking with God, to not participate in games of chance. 01. The Christian lives by faith and not by luck. He trusts in God and not in a chance. "The righteous will live by faith”. (Romans 1:17) 02. The plan of God is that we may live by honest work and not by easy money. To work dignifies the human being. ”… but to work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.” (Ephesians 4:28) 03. The believer lives happy in all and every circumstances, and not by the possibility of winning a lot of money in an easy way. "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment”.( 1 Tim. 6:17) 04. The believer doesn’t get involved with unjust things and things with bad reputation. Lottery money is dirty, because it comes from an addiction of millions of people. Millions of homes lack food, dressing, health and study because the money is turned aside to a false hope. Few people win, millions loose.
The principles of God are eternal as well as God is eternal; they do not change as time goes by. God is our greatest pastor who cares, protects and fulfills all our needs. (Psalm 23)
And a last question: Do you believe that Jesus, walking here today, would play the lottery? Pr. Alcione (Adapted)
