The ostrich, when attracted by something, an orange or a tennis ball, a pocket knife or a paper roll, whatever he is attracted, he swallows. Everything is food for him. There are people who believe in anything thing easily, any super natural element or any kind of testimony is “swallowed” easily.
I know many Christians that are like an ostrich. They think that they were called to believe in everything, things that they don’t see, anything that has no explanation or unreliable. They know that God can do miracles therefore; everything is considered a miracle from God. Everything extraordinary and unexplainable is accepted as divine. Once the prophets were rejected in the old testament, all people rejected by a spiritual manifestation are prophets. The Holy ones of God in the Old Testament were misinterpreted, so every misinterpreted spiritual leader is Holy.
These are very dangerous theories that lead to mistakes. It’s important to maintain an emotional balance and a sober mind. A healthy soul is like healthy blood. It has to have a balance between white and red corpuscles. The red ones are like our faith: they transport oxygen and gives life to the body. The white ones eliminates poison and mortal elements. These two kinds of corpuscles work coordinated to keep the body healthy. A healthy body expels mortal and poisonous things.
Somebody that’s easily deceived is the one that never questions, that believe in everything. We need to maintain an attitude of balance: at the same time, we need to maintain our faith in God, we need to question the mystic and hidden. Numerology, astrology, spiritism, etc... Has to be rejected. And everything that is not registered in the bible and that doesn't match the instruction God left to us is to be questioned. A.W. Tozer | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
