Sister Marilee Morden Brief Biography:
After completing their studies in Campinas, we moved to São Luis, and after six months, we moved again; this time to Itapecurú Mirim do Maranhão. After a year-and-a-half, my father was invited to teach in a seminary in Floriano, PI (Seminário Teológico Batista do Nordeste). After spending one year in the States, we came back to Floriano where my father continued to teach in the seminary and we planted a church in the city. I went to study in Fortaleza in an American School for missionary children. I completed my high school there. I came back to the United States to study at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago because I always wanted to serve the Lord. After graduating from Moody I transferred to Biola University in Whittier, CA to complete my studies in Christian Education. I returned to Brazil after graduating from Biola and spent the next two years working in the seminary where my parents were. During this time I discovered that God wanted me in Brazil and not in the States as I imagined. Because of God’s call, I felt that I should be better prepared for the ministry so I went to Denver Seminary, CO to get my Masters in Biblical studies in August 1978. In January 1978 I was called by the mission (CB International) to be a missionary in Brazil and in November of the same year I began my missionary career. I had the privilege to plant a church in Floriano (Igreja Batista Emanuel) in 1992and begin leadership training for outsiders in the church. Things I like to do very much include studying the Word of God and working in the music ministry of the church; both directing the choir and playing the guitar in the services. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
